John Bonham’s sister Deborah Bonham performed at a candlelit memorial concert for Led Zeppelin’s late drummer at Redditch’s St. Stephen’s Church in on August 2nd, 2014 to benefit the John Bonham Memorial Fund. This video was shown on the big screen at the church in Redditch, England where John Bonham was born and raised. John played his first gig on the church yard when he was just a lad. The John Bonham Memorial Fund is fundraising to purchase a statue to erect in his honor in that very same church yard.
“The world lost a great soul and a great drummer when John passed and many of us lost a great friend. It is only right that a memorial statue to commemorate his life stand for all time just like his memory and music will. Thanks to the fans at the DTE Ampitheater in Clarkston, MI for helping to record this video message” – Paul Rodgers
The aim of the John Bonham Memorial Fund is to raise an initial £50,000 for the design and installation of a fitting permanent memorial in Redditch town centre, the birthplace of the legendary drummer from Led Zeppelin.
